High Yield Extraction Plant

Mustard / Canola / Rapeseed Solvent Extraction Plant

The Mustard, Canola, and Rapeseed Solvent Extraction Plant is expertly engineered to recover the maximum amount of oil from pre-pressed oilseed cakes. Because these seeds have a naturally high oil content (35-45%), they are first processed through mechanical screw presses. The remaining cake, which still holds about 12-18% oil, is then fed into our advanced continuous solvent extraction system. The plant utilizes food-grade hexane to efficiently dissolve and extract this remaining oil, bringing the residual oil in the final meal down to less than 1.0%. A crucial part of this process is the carefully controlled Desolventizer Toaster (DT), which not only recovers the solvent but also manages the heat treatment to reduce toxic glucosinolates, producing a high-protein, safe de-oiled cake (DOC) ideal for animal and poultry feed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common technical queries about our Mustard/Canola Solvent Extraction Plant

Q1. Can we process direct mustard seeds in this plant?
expand_more

Mustard and canola seeds have a very high oil content (up to 40-45%). Therefore, they must first be mechanically pressed in oil expellers. The resulting cake, which retains about 12-18% oil, is then successfully processed in the solvent extraction plant.

Q2. How does the plant manage glucosinolates in rapeseed/mustard?
expand_more

Our advanced Desolventizer Toaster (DT) system uses carefully controlled heat and moisture. This specialized toasting process helps reduce toxic glucosinolates, making the final de-oiled meal safe and nutritious for animal consumption.

Q3. Is preparation required for the pre-pressed cake?
expand_more

Yes, the hard pre-pressed cake needs to be broken down using a cake breaker to ensure uniform size. Proper sizing allows optimal solvent percolation inside the extractor and guarantees maximum oil extraction efficiency.

Q4. What is the quality of the extracted oil?
expand_more

The solvent-extracted crude mustard/canola oil retains its natural properties and pungency (if desired). Our low-temperature miscella distillation prevents color darkening and degradation, making it ideal for the subsequent refining process.

Q5. How efficient is the solvent recovery?
expand_more

We implement a strict closed-loop system with multi-stage condensation and a mineral oil absorption unit, ensuring that solvent loss is strictly maintained below 2.0 liters per ton of processed cake.

Q6. Can the same plant process soybean or sunflower?
expand_more

Absolutely. Our solvent extraction plants are highly versatile. With minor adjustments in the preparatory section and operating parameters, the same plant can efficiently extract oil from soybean, sunflower cake, and other oil-bearing materials.
