Solvent Extraction Plant Manufacturer .

A large body of research has been conducted on the solvent extraction process using various solvents, and it has ultimately been found that hexane is the most suitable, economical, and easily recyclable solvent for any Solvent Extraction Plant or oil milling plant setup.

science

Solvent extraction is a widely used process to pull oils and oleo compounds out of oil-bearing materials. What makes it so effective is its ability to extract oil even from low oil-content materials, bringing residual oil levels down to below 1%. The protein-rich meal left behind after extraction is not wasted; it is commonly used in poultry feed, fish feed, animal feed, and pet food production. Over the years, several extractor designs have been developed to handle different types of oilseeds and processing capacities. The most commonly used types include the Ball Mill Extractor, Kennedy Extractor, Rotocell Extractor, Rotary Cell Extractor, and Moving Bed Extractor. As a leading Solvent Extraction Plant Manufacturer in India, Super Techno Engineers offers all major extractor types. Whether you are processing soybean, sunflower, cottonseed, or rice bran, we help you select the right extractor for your specific raw material and capacity requirement.

factory

The moving deep bed extractor is widely used with hexane as the solvent for extracting oils from a broad range of oil-bearing materials such as soybeans, cottonseed, sunflower seeds, and oil cakes from groundnut, castor, mustard, safflower, sunflower, shea, as well as materials like cocoa nibs. Proper preparation is essential to make the material suitable for extraction. Oil can be extracted from oil-bearing seeds, expelled cakes, or expanded materials.

Moving bed extractors are commonly used with capacities ranging from 60 tons per day to 1000 tons per day to extract oils from various seeds and expelled cakes. Our Solvent Extraction Plant is suitable for Soybean / Soya Bean, Cottonseed, Sunflower Seed, Groundnut / Peanut, Palm Kernel, Sesame Seed, Shea Butter, and Coconut / Copra Solvent Extraction Plant requirements — making it a complete solution for your oil milling plant setup.

Flagship Equipment

Solvent Extractor

Prepared seeds, oil cakes, or expanded materials are conveyed to the extractor through a sealed feeding system with level controls. Inside the moving bed extractor, hexane is sprayed counter-currently over the material, dissolving the oil to form miscella. The miscella is collected, filtered, and sent to a holding tank. The de-oiled material, still containing solvent, is then discharged and conveyed through a sealed system to a desolventizer toaster. This core equipment is central to every Solvent Extraction Plant Process we commission, whether for a Soybean Solvent Extraction Plant, a Coconut Solvent Extraction Plant, or a Shea Butter Solvent Extraction Plant.

Residual Processing

Meal Desolventization

The solvent-extracted material is heated in a desolventizer toaster with steam to remove residual solvent, producing de-oiled cake (meal). It is then toasted with controlled moisture to deactivate enzymes and sent for conditioning and bagging.

Solvent vapors and fines are treated in a wet scrubber using hot water, then passed to a condensation system. The process operates in a closed loop, recovering solvent efficiently before final meal handling — a key advantage of our Solvent Extraction Systems.

Miscella Distillation System

After passing through the wet scrubber, solvent vapors are free of fine particles. These vapors move through the economizer, where they transfer heat to the filtered miscella flowing on the other side. This heat causes the miscella to partially vaporize in a flasher, making it more concentrated, while the vapors are sent for condensation.

The concentrated miscella then goes through a series of evaporators and flashers, where it is gradually heated and concentrated to around 98%. At this stage, it enters a vacuum-operated stripping column, where any remaining solvent is removed by exposing the miscella to a thin-film surface under vacuum conditions. Finally, the oil is dried under vacuum to bring residual solvent down to the lowest possible levels. It then passes through a heat recovery and cooling system before being transferred to an intermediate storage tank, ready for the next stage of processing.

Frequently Asked Questions

The extractor uses either a perforated mesh or a wedge wire system, selected based on the type of raw material being processed. Perforated mesh works well for finer materials, while wedge wire is preferred for coarser or fibrous oilseeds that need better drainage and percolation. Both systems allow free hexane flow through the material bed while keeping fines out of the miscella, resulting in cleaner oil output. Our solvent extraction systems come pre-configured with the right mesh type for your specific oilseed and capacity.
Yes. Since hexane is flammable, every solvent extraction plant we manufacture is built with multiple safety measures. The entire system uses fully sealed conveyors, a closed-loop solvent recovery circuit, and explosion-proof electrical fittings throughout the solvent zone. Pressure relief systems and emergency shutdown mechanisms are standard on all our plants. Our solvent extraction systems are manufactured in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018, ensuring both operational safety and product quality.
Our plants handle soybean, cottonseed, sunflower, groundnut, palm kernel, rice bran, mustard, sesame, shea nut, and coconut/copra. Since each seed has different oil content and physical properties, the preparation section is customized for each raw material before it enters the extractor. This ensures the best possible oil yield and good quality meal as a byproduct.
In a batch type plant, oilseeds are loaded, processed, and discharged in fixed cycles making it a practical choice for smaller operations or facilities handling multiple seed varieties at different times. A continuous solvent extraction plant runs with an uninterrupted feed, which suits larger capacities between 60 TPD and 1000 TPD and brings down per-unit processing costs significantly. We manufacture both types and help you choose the right one based on your scale and budget.
Miscella is the mixture of oil and hexane solvent that forms inside the extractor as hexane dissolves the oil from the oilseed. This oil-solvent mixture is then collected, filtered, and sent to the distillation system where solvent is separated and recovered, leaving behind pure crude oil. Proper miscella handling is critical to achieving low solvent loss and high oil quality in any solvent extraction plant process.
Our solvent extraction systems are engineered for minimum hexane consumption and maximum solvent recovery. Through efficient distillation, mineral oil absorption systems, and closed-loop recovery design, hexane loss is kept well within internationally accepted limits. This directly reduces your plant's operating cost and makes the oil milling plant setup more economical in the long run.
