Vapor Scrubber for Edible Oil Refinery
Condensation-based scrubbing equipment engineered to recover valuable fatty acid distillate from deodorizer vapor while protecting downstream vacuum equipment from contamination.
Scrubbing Equipment
Super Techno Engineers' Vapor Scrubber for Edible Oil Refinery is a fatty acid distillate recovery system built to treat the vapor stream stripped off during deodorization, before it reaches the vacuum boosters and ejectors. During deodorization, high-vacuum steam distillation carries off free fatty acids, odour compounds, and other volatiles from the oil. Our deodorizer vapor scrubber condenses these vapors using recirculated, cooled distillate sprayed through the scrubber, functioning as a fatty acid distillate condenser and fatty acid vapor condensing unit in one integrated vessel.
Recovering this distillate serves two purposes: it captures a commercially valuable by-product rich in free fatty acids and, where present, tocopherols, and it acts as a vacuum system protection scrubber, preventing fatty acid carryover from contaminating the motive steam used in downstream boosters and ejectors. This FFA recovery system is especially important in physical refining scrubber equipment applications, where crude oil's higher FFA content produces a larger volume of distillate that must be efficiently captured rather than lost to the vacuum system.
Recirculated Distillate Spray & Vapor Condensation
The core of an effective vapor scrubbing system for deodorization is direct-contact condensation, vapor rising from the deodorizer stripping section meets a continuously recirculated, cooled spray of distillate, condensing the fatty acids and volatile compounds on contact rather than allowing them to pass further into the vacuum train. Our Deodorizer Distillate Recovery Unit can be mounted directly on top of the stripping section or supplied as a separate vessel, depending on plant layout and retrofit requirements.
A portion of the condensed distillate is continuously recirculated and cooled to maintain scrubbing efficiency, while the balance is drawn off as recovered fatty acid distillate, ready for further processing or sale as a by-product.

Built for Corrosive, High-Temperature Vapor Service
Our edible oil deodorizer accessories, including the vapor scrubber vessel, spray nozzles, and internals, are fabricated from stainless steel to withstand continuous exposure to hot, fatty-acid-laden vapor without corrosion or fouling. Piping and pump components handling recirculated distillate are selected for reliable operation under the temperature and acidity conditions typical of deodorizer vapor service.
Consistent scrubbing performance depends on well-distributed spray coverage and a vessel design that avoids vapor bypass, both of which are engineered into every unit we supply.

Implementation Protocol
How We Work
Our engineering teams size every Vapor Scrubber for Edible Oil Refinery to match your deodorizer's vapor load and expected distillate volume.
Vapor Load & FFA Analysis
We evaluate your crude oil's FFA level, deodorizer capacity, and refining type (chemical or physical) to estimate expected distillate volume and scrubber sizing.
Scrubber & Recirculation Design
Our engineers design the spray distribution, recirculation loop, and cooling arrangement to achieve efficient vapor condensation while protecting downstream vacuum equipment.
Fabrication & Integration
The scrubber vessel and internals are fabricated, tested, and integrated either directly onto the deodorizer stripping section or as a standalone unit within your refining line.

Frequently Asked Questions
It recovers fatty acid distillate, a mixture rich in free fatty acids and, depending on the oil, tocopherols and other volatiles, that is stripped from oil during deodorization and would otherwise be lost to the vacuum system.
Physical refining scrubber equipment handles a larger distillate load, since physical refining removes free fatty acids through steam distillation rather than chemical neutralization, resulting in more fatty acid vapor entering the scrubber.
By condensing fatty acids and volatiles out of the vapor stream before it reaches the boosters and ejectors, the vacuum system protection scrubber reduces contamination and fouling in downstream vacuum equipment, extending its service life.
Yes. Our deodorizer vapor scrubber can be supplied as a standalone vessel for retrofit onto an existing deodorization line, or integrated directly with the stripping section on new installations.
The recovered distillate is drawn off continuously and can be sold as a valuable by-product or processed further, depending on its composition and the client's downstream arrangements.
Yes, our Fatty Acid Distillate Condenser and vapor scrubbing system for deodorization are engineered to work with deodorizer vapor streams from both chemical and physical refining configurations.
