Edible Oil Refinery Systems

Transforming crude oils into premium, market-ready edible oils with superior purity, color, and stability.

Corporate Philosophy

Purity Beyond Standard.

Edible oil refining is a critical sequence of unit operations designed to eliminate impurities such as phosphatides, free fatty acids (FFA), pigments, and volatile odours.

Physical & Chemical Refining

Depending on the quality and type of crude oil, we design and manufacture both Physical Refining (distillation of FFA under vacuum) and Chemical Refining (neutralization with caustic soda) plants to ensure optimal yield and quality.

High-Efficiency Processing

Our plants utilize cutting-edge degumming, bleaching, and deodorization technologies designed to operate continuously or in batches.

We supply refineries with capacities ranging from 10 tons per day to 1000 tons per day, completely tailored to handle multiseed or single-seed crude oils.

Flagship Equipment

Edible Oil Refinery Plant

Crude oil obtained from expellers or solvent extraction plants contains undesirable elements that make it unsuitable for human consumption. Our complete refinery plant effectively processes soybean, sunflower, palm, mustard, groundnut, and cotton seed oils.

By meticulously controlling temperature, vacuum levels, and reagent additions, our refining process guarantees that the end product has excellent shelf life, zero off-flavors, brilliant color, and meets strict international food safety standards.

Degumming and Neutralization
Step One

Degumming & Neutralization

The crude oil is first treated with phosphoric or citric acid and hot water to hydrate and precipitate gums (phosphatides), which are separated using high-speed centrifugal separators.

In chemical refining, caustic soda is then added to neutralize the Free Fatty Acids (FFA), forming soap stock. This soap stock is heavier than the oil and is continuously removed by centrifuges, resulting in neutralized, degummed oil.

Step Two

Vacuum Bleaching

The neutralized oil is heated under vacuum and mixed with activated bleaching earth (and sometimes activated carbon). This process effectively adsorbs color pigments (like chlorophyll and carotene), trace metals, and remaining soap particles.

After the desired contact time, the mixture passes through hermetically sealed pressure leaf filters (PLFs). These automated filters retain the spent bleaching earth and deliver crystal-clear, lightly colored bleached oil.

Deodorization System
Final Step

Deodorization System

This is the most critical stage. The bleached oil is subjected to very high temperatures (up to 250°C) under extremely deep vacuum (1-3 torr). High-pressure stripping steam is injected into the oil.

This steam distillation process evaporates odoriferous compounds, volatile matter, and any remaining free fatty acids. The oil is then rapidly cooled through heat exchangers, yielding a tasteless, odorless, and highly stable premium edible oil.

Detailed Capabilities

Chemical refining uses caustic soda to neutralize Free Fatty Acids (FFA), ideal for seed oils like soybean. Physical refining strips FFA via steam distillation under deep vacuum, which is highly efficient for high-FFA oils like palm or rice bran, resulting in less oil loss.

We provide continuous tray-type deodorizers or batch vessels, strictly manufactured using SS-304/SS-316. They operate under a deep vacuum of 1-3 torr with internal coils for uniform heating and open steam sparging.

Yes, for oils like Sunflower and Rice Bran which contain waxes, we integrate a winterization section. The oil is slowly chilled to crystallize the waxes, which are then filtered out to ensure the oil remains clear even at cold temperatures.

Our refineries are designed with highly efficient heat recovery systems (oil-to-oil heat exchangers) that drastically reduce the overall steam and electrical power consumption required for heating and cooling.

Yes, we provide end-to-end solutions. Our team of expert engineers will visit the site globally to handle complete mechanical installation, pipeline work, electrical connections, testing, and final commissioning.

Deep vacuum is created using multi-stage steam ejectors combined with barometric condensers or modern closed-loop chilled water systems (dry condensing) for eco-friendly operation.

We utilize hermetically sealed Vertical Pressure Leaf Filters (PLF). They offer automated pneumatic cake discharge, eliminating manual cleaning, and ensure zero exposure of hot oil to air.

We design batch refineries starting from 10 TPD for boutique setups, and fully continuous refineries ranging from 50 TPD up to 1000 TPD for large-scale industrial producers.

The soap stock generated during the neutralization stage is continuously removed via separators and collected. It can be further treated in an Acid Oil Plant to recover valuable fatty acids as a byproduct.

Absolutely. We offer complete PLC and SCADA based automation systems. This ensures precise control over chemical dosing, temperature curves, and vacuum parameters, leaving zero room for human error.
