Dewaxing Crystallization Equipment
An oil chilling and crystallization system engineered with counter-current cooling to remove wax from bleached oil, delivering clear, cold-stable, ready-to-filter edible oil. Super Techno Engineers builds this equipment for consistent, low-maintenance performance across every capacity range.
Oil Crystallizer Tank & Wax Filtration System
Crystallizer, Maturater Unit & Filter Press
Dewaxing is the process of cooling oil to a temperature at which wax converts into solid crystal form while the oil itself stays liquid. In a Super Techno Engineers system, bleached oil from the Bleached Oil Tank (BOT) is pumped continuously through a series of crystallizer tanks, where it is cooled slowly and steadily, first with cold water and then chilled water, in a counter-current manner to crystallize the wax content into a filterable form.
From the crystallizers, oil moves to the maturater unit for edible oil dewaxing, arranged in series with the crystallizers, where temperature is raised or lowered as needed to allow proper crystal growth and stabilize the wax formation. Once maturation is complete, the oil passes through the wax filtration system, either a horizontal PP/CI filter press or a horizontal pressure leaf filter, separating solid wax from clear, dewaxed oil.
Counter-Current Cooling for Complete Wax Crystallization
The key to efficient dewaxing is maintaining a precise, gradual cooling curve as oil passes through the crystallizer tank series. Our oil crystallizer tank units are designed with staged cooling zones, first cold water, then chilled water, allowing wax molecules to form well-structured crystals that filter easily rather than a fine slurry that clogs filter media.
Each crystallizer feeds oil to the maturater unit in a controlled, counter-current flow, giving operators precise control over residence time and temperature profile based on the oil's natural wax content and the desired final clarity.

The Science Behind Wax Crystallization
Every Dewaxing Crystallization Equipment setup relies on a few fundamental steps to convert dissolved wax into solid, filterable crystals.
Supersaturation
As bleached oil is cooled in stages, wax reaches a point where the oil can no longer hold it in dissolved form at that temperature. This is what triggers crystal formation to begin.
Nucleation & Crystal Growth
Tiny wax nuclei form first as the oil cools, then grow steadily into larger, well-defined crystals as the oil moves through crystallizer stages. Controlled, gradual cooling ensures large, filterable structures rather than a fine slurry.
Maturater Unit Stabilization
Holds the oil at a controlled temperature after initial cooling, allowing wax crystals to mature into a size and structure that filters cleanly, giving consistently clear, cold-stable dewaxed oil.
We offer both batch crystallizer configurations for smaller processors needing flexibility across different oil types, and continuous crystallization unit setups for large-scale refineries running uninterrupted production, applying the underlying science at whichever scale your plant requires.
Built for Consistent, Long-Term Cooling Performance
As a dewaxing equipment manufacturer, Super Techno Engineers fabricates crystallizer tanks and maturater vessels from stainless steel or heavy-gauge mild steel with insulated jackets, ensuring stable, uniform cooling without temperature fluctuation across the tank series.
Internal cooling coils and agitator components are built to handle sustained low-temperature operation without corrosion or scaling, keeping heat transfer efficient batch after batch, day after day.
"The insulated, multi-zone crystallizer and maturater design are engineered to hold a steady cooling curve for years of continuous dewaxing operation without loss of wax separation efficiency."

IMPLEMENTATION PROTOCOL
How We Work
Super Techno Engineers designs every turnkey dewaxing plant in India to match your oil's wax content and capacity, ensuring efficient, complete dewaxing.
Feed & Wax Analysis
We evaluate your bleached oil's natural wax content and cloud point to determine the number of crystallizer stages and cooling curve required.
Cooling & Residence Design
Our engineers calculate the optimum cold water and chilled water staging, crystallizer-to-maturater sequencing, and residence time for complete, filterable crystal formation.
Fabrication & Testing
Crystallizer tanks, maturater unit, and filter press are fabricated, insulated, and tested for consistent cooling performance before shipment and integration into your dewaxing plant.
Super Techno Engineers supplies the complete line—crystallizer tanks, maturater unit, and filtration—as a single integrated system for refineries across India.
Case Studies & Endorsements
Industry Testimonials
"Our earlier dewaxing setup left the oil cloudy in winter and filtration was slow. After installing this Super Techno Engineers crystallization equipment, wax separation improved noticeably and our filter press runs are far quicker and more consistent."

Frequently Asked Questions
This equipment (crystallizer tanks and maturater unit) is the core cooling system within a turnkey dewaxing plant in India, which also includes filtration equipment, piping, and controls to deliver a complete oil dewaxing solution.
Gradual, staged cooling with cold water followed by chilled water allows wax to form larger, well-structured crystals that filter easily. Rapid cooling produces a fine slurry that clogs filter media and reduces filtration efficiency.
The maturater unit holds oil at a controlled temperature after initial cooling, allowing wax crystals to grow and stabilize fully before filtration, improving both filtration speed and final oil clarity.
Once wax is crystallized, oil is passed through the wax filtration system, either a horizontal PP/CI filter press for oil dewaxing or a horizontal pressure leaf filtration system, which separates the solid wax from clear dewaxed oil.
We supply oil crystallizer tank and maturater configurations from 20 TPD for smaller processors up to 500+ TPD for large, continuous installations.
Crystallization equipment cost depends on plant capacity, number of cooling stages, filtration type, construction material, and whether it's supplied as standalone equipment or a complete turnkey dewaxing plant.
