Plate/Regenerative Heat Exchanger
Compact, high-efficiency heat recovery equipment engineered to transfer heat between hot outgoing oil and cold incoming oil, cutting steam and fuel consumption across your edible oil refining line.
Heat Transfer
Equipment
Super Techno Engineers' Plate Heat Exchanger is built around a stack of closely spaced, corrugated stainless steel plates that create a large heat transfer surface within a compact, space-saving footprint. Hot and cold fluid streams flow through alternating channels between the plates, allowing heat to pass from the hot stream to the cold stream through thin plate walls without the two fluids ever mixing.
Used as a Regenerative Heat Exchanger, this same plate design recovers heat directly within the process, hot oil leaving a stage such as deodorization or bleaching gives up part of its heat to incoming cold oil entering that same stage, functioning as a Heat Recovery Economizer that reduces the live steam or fuel needed to bring the incoming oil up to process temperature. A Plate Heat Exchanger for Edible Oil is typically installed wherever a hot outgoing stream and a cold incoming stream exist side by side in the refining line, including a Plate Heat Exchanger for Oil Degumming ahead of the conditioning stage, and a Plate Heat Exchanger for Deodorization Line to pre-heat oil entering the deodorizer using heat from the outgoing deodorized product.
Corrugated Plate Stack & Counter-Current Flow
The core of an effective Industrial Plate Heat Exchanger is the corrugated plate pattern, which induces turbulent flow even at moderate velocities, maximizing heat transfer per unit area compared to plain-surface designs like shell-and-tube exchangers.
Plates are arranged in a counter-current flow pattern, with hot and cold streams moving in opposite directions, which allows the outgoing stream to be cooled very close to the incoming stream's starting temperature. Because the plate pack is modular, the number of plates can be adjusted to match required capacity.

Built for Continuous Thermal Cycling
Every Plate Heat Exchanger we supply uses stainless steel plates engineered to withstand repeated thermal cycling, oil exposure, and, where required, cleaning-in-place procedures without warping or gasket failure. Frame and compression components are sized to maintain consistent plate spacing and sealing pressure across long production runs.
For continuous, high-duty applications, welded or semi-welded plate construction is available where gasket-free operation is preferred for higher temperature or pressure service.
Operational Capabilities
Performance Efficiency
Counter-current plate design recovers a large share of the heat that would otherwise be lost from hot outgoing oil.
Delivers large heat transfer area in a fraction of the space required by shell-and-tube alternatives.
Functions as an Economizer, cutting the steam and fuel needed to bring incoming oil to process temperature.

Implementation Protocol
How We Work
Our engineering teams size every Plate/Regenerative Heat Exchanger to match your process temperatures, flow rates, and heat recovery targets.
Thermal Load Analysis
We evaluate your hot and cold stream temperatures, flow rates, and the specific refining stage (degumming, bleaching, or deodorization) to calculate the required heat transfer area.
Plate Pack & Flow Design
Our engineers select plate corrugation pattern, count, and flow arrangement to achieve your target heat recovery while keeping pressure drop within acceptable limits.
Fabrication & Testing
The plate pack, frame, and connections are fabricated, pressure-tested, and assembled before shipment and integration into your edible oil refining line.

Frequently Asked Questions
A Plate Heat Exchanger describes the physical design, corrugated plates arranged for heat transfer, while Regenerative Heat Exchanger describes its function: recovering heat from a hot outgoing stream to pre-heat a cold incoming stream within the same process.
It is commonly used wherever hot and cold streams exist together, such as a Plate Heat Exchanger for Oil Degumming ahead of conditioning, or a Plate Heat Exchanger for Deodorization Line to pre-heat incoming oil using heat from the outgoing deodorized product.
Savings depend on the temperature difference between hot and cold streams and the exchanger's heat transfer area, but well-designed regenerative heat recovery can significantly cut the live steam or fuel otherwise needed to reach process temperature.
Gasketed units allow easy opening for cleaning or plate replacement and suit most standard duties, while welded or semi-welded construction is preferred for higher temperature, higher pressure, or gasket-sensitive applications.
Yes, the modular plate pack design allows additional plates to be added within the same frame in many cases, making capacity expansion more straightforward than replacing the entire unit.
Super Techno Engineers offers Plate/Regenerative Heat Exchanger configurations sized to match individual degumming, bleaching, and deodorization line requirements, custom-engineered around your process heat duty.
